Technique: Lost wax casting
Our favourite setting of all time……
The brass claw allows the maximum light to penetrate the crystal, so you can see the natural beauty of the quartz, in all its glory.
Once a crystal is chosen for its aesthetic beauty, wax is used to form a setting around it, fitting it perfectly. The crystal is then gently removed, and wax has a mould made around it. Once set the wax is burnt away and replaced with molten brass.
After this the final process of sanding, polishing and the setting of the crystal.
